All change at the Jersey FIU - Again

04/06/2026

The Minister for External Relations decided to appoint Mr R. Corrigan as the Acting Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU Jersey), in accordance with Article 2C of the 2015 Regulations.

The previous Director, Mr I. McDonald has resigned from his position, and as a result, the Minister is required to appoint a successor to ensure continuity of leadership.

Corrigan will assume responsibility for the direction, development, and operational performance of the Financial Intelligence Unit pending completion of the selection process for a new permanent role-holder. The recruitment process for a permanent Director is at an advanced stage and has been chaired throughout by the Jersey Appointments Commission.

This interim appointment bridges the gap between McDonald's departure and the permanent Director's start date and is not expected to exceed 4 months from the date of this decision.

In accordance with Article 2C(3) of the Proceeds of Crime (Financial Intelligence) (Jersey) Regulations 2015, the Minister has consulted the Financial Intelligence Unit Governance Board prior to making this appointment, and no objections were raised.
