GFSC issues fines totalling £431,900.00 along with prohibitions on x3 officers holding a supervised role.

On 19 June 2024, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (“the Commission”[GFSC]) decided to issue a financial penalty TOTALLING £431,900.00  [£266,000.00, £63,000.00, £63,000.00, and £39,900.00] to Trident Trust Company (Guernsey) Limited  [the Licensee] and 3 directors.

The 3 directors who were also banned from holding a supervised role.

THE X3 OFFICERS FINED AND BANNED WERE:-

DETAILS OF THE X3 OFFICERS FINED AND BANNED ARE AS FOLLOWS:-

Mrs Boonyasinee (“Kwan”) Queripel (Date of Birth 13 March 1976) of Foinavon, Havilland Vale, St. Peter Port, Guernsey, GY1 2UN

  • Mrs Queripel was:-
    • The Compliance Officer at the Firm from 16 July 2015 to 30 March 2019,
    • Its Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) and Money Laundering Compliance Officer (“MLCO”) from 31 March 2019 to 1 June 2021.
    • Fined £39,900.00 and
    • Banned from holding a supervised role for 1 year 9 months.

Mr Ryan Daniel Dekker (Date of Birth 28 June 1977) of Amatola, 3 Le Petit Frappier, Rue des Marettes, St Martin, GY4 6JH

Mr Mark Wilson Le Tissier (Date of Birth 24 April 1963) of L’Esperance, Epinelle Road, St Sampson, Guernsey, GY2 4YY

  • Mr Le Tissier was:-
    • The Managing Director of the Firm from 17 December 1999 to 31 March 2015 and
    • European Managing Director from 1 April 2015 to May 2023.
    • Fined £63,000.00 and
    • Banned from holding a supervised role for 2 years 10 months.
      • 8th July 2024 = Prohibitions =Date of prohibition order pursuant to section 33 of The Financial Services Business (Enforcement Powers) (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2020 and prohibited functions: From 19 June 2024 until 19 April 2027: holding a supervised role.
