Do as I say, not as I do - comes to mind - the Europeans are happy to criticize others for not being up to date to date with AML standards, but this takes the biscuit!!!
The European Commission sent notification letters this Thursday to Portugal, Germany and Romania for incorrect transposition of the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD4).
The 4AMLD was ratified by the European Parliament in 2015 and was implemented in all EU states on the 26th of June 2017.
AND TO THINK - The 6AMLD came into effect for member states on the 3rd of December 2020 and is to be implemented by financial institutions by the 3rd of June 2021.
